Visualization of the coal deposit in three-dimensional space provides a clearer understanding of the coal seam's geometry, distribution, and structural complexities. This is essential for mine planning in determining the volume, tonnage, and coal quality.
Tabulation data from drilling exploration is the main input
for modeling the coal deposit. The table mainly contains collar, lithology, and
lab coal quality analysis. The following picture presents the drilling holes
with interpretation of multi-seam coal strata. Seam’s coal name and roof depth
are plotted in all of the drilling log. The location situated in the South
Kalimantan proximity to the coastal area has relatively no undulation.
Spatial visualization and correlation in 3D modeling provides clearer view and understanding of the coal seams geometry, continuity and complexity of geology. The next figure showing multi coal seams horizons or surfaces that is interpolated from roof of the coal seam between boreholes.
